Month #3: Here Comes Santa Claus!

December was a fun month for a couple of reasons - one, it was your Mommy's 30th Birthday.  Two (and much more importantly), you celebrated your first Christmas!

We started off the month with a visit to Daddy's old boss and her little girl, who was only born 4 weeks before you!  It was fun to watch you two interact.  She was just a bit older, so she was a "sneak preview" of things to come for you!  And sure enough, you started doing some of those things in just a couple of weeks.  For example, you learnt how to roll from your tummy to your back (your back to your tummy rolling didn't come until a couple of months later), you were quite fond of saying "ah-goo" (especially when on your change table), and you learnt how to watch people as they moved around. Pretty exciting stuff!

Next up was Mommy's birthday.  Being the thoughtful girl that you are (though I have to admit that Daddy helped a bit), you got her classes to go do "Intellidance Babies" with you (more on that later) and Mommy & Baby yoga!  Unfortunately, Mommy had to cancel the yoga because it conflicted with her new Mom's group.  But more on that later too!  Daddy cooked up a big feast for everyone and Grandma baked a lemon cake.  A good time was had by all!

Next up was your first overnight trip away from home.  Mommy & Daddy went to Daddy's Christmas party, and you got to stay in your first hotel room (Grandma & Grandpa O were nice enough to babysit for a few hours!)  You were a perfect little angel!

A few weeks after that was your first Christmas!  And boy, did Santa spoil you!

There were so many Santa Claus presents for you that you were almost buried alive!
You loved the Christmas tree, and looking at all the lights! But nothing beat the excitement of Christmas morning.  We got you dressed up in your very first Christmas dress.  You were all ready to meet Santa Claus!

Christmas morning, waiting to open presents!
Santa came and watched you (with Mommy's help) open your presents!  You loved to pull on his beard!
You and Santa and Mommy (who didn't bother to comb her hair, apparently) opening presents
Checking out your blue dog for the first time.  Miley really liked it too!

Family photo!
I had mentioned earlier that you didn't like eating. The week between Christmas and New Year's is one I like to refer to as the "Great Hunger Strike".  You just did not want to eat, period.  It didn't matter what Mommy did.  You saw a bottle and you would cry and cry and cry (which you still do now, as I write this!)  That was the same week that we tried to give you medicine, and you promptly threw it up all over us! We learnt from that point that all medicine needs to be given to you over the tub!

New Years Eve was a pretty relaxed evening.  You, Mommy & Daddy spent the evening watching TV downstairs.  2011 had been a wonderful year, and we were so excited to see what 2012 would have in store!
