Intro to Your Blog

Hello Maddie!

You have been gracing us with your beautiful presence for the last five months.  And what a wonderful five months it has been.  You have gone from being a totally dependent little baby to one that is constantly trying to explore parts of her new world every day.  You are just on the cusp of sitting, crawling, and saying those much-anticipated first words (which, let's face it, everyone knows will be "mama"!)  Every day is something new!

For your mother, it's all gone by a little too quickly.  Everyone warned me it would, but I think it's something you don't understand til you experience it yourself.  And being true to my own nature, I am failing miserably at capturing all these magical moments.  Some moms scrapbook.  That won't be me - I can barely cut straight with scissors.  Some write in a baby book.  Your Grandma O was kind enough to buy us one for Christmas, and I'll get to it one day.  But for now, it is sitting inside your closet right now, lost in the jungle of books and stuffed animals.  True to our nature, your father and I wanted to do something a little more detailed, a little more accessible, a little more "tech-y". 

Thus....your very own blog!  Tada!  Consider this your baby journal, detailing your life for the next few years to come.  Of course, seeing as you're already five months, I have some catching up to do!  So hopefully you'll be taking lots of naps in the next few weeks to come. :)

But chronicling your day-to-day adventures (or, more realistically, week-to-week) isn't enough.  You need some background.  So I'm going to go back just a bit before you were born, to help you shed some light on the wonderful folks that are your parents.  I'll share a bit about your grandparents, aunts & uncles too. And because you've been a part of our life for way longer than the last five months, I'll tell you about what it was like to be expecting you, and as every child I'm sure is curious about, your birth story (don't worry - I'll leave the gross bits out.)
